Join our first digital ‘Plus X Presents’ lunch with the amazing Lucy Hughes, Founder of MarinaTex and Plus X member who will be talking about how she built a product to help solve the global plastic crisis.
This is the first episode in a series of online events that we’ll be running over the coming months. We’ll be showcasing game changing innovators and finger on the pulse business experts to help you become curious, motivated and inspired in these unprecedented times.
MarinaTex is a versatile material made from fish waste that can be an alternative to plastic in a variety of applications.
Including bags and single-use packaging, MarinaTex has a variety of different applications. The transparent film is well suited for packaging and will biodegrade in a soil environment. The organic formula does not leach harmful chemicals and can be consumed, causing no harm to wildlife or humans.
From 100 different experiments to get her material right, to winning the prestigious International James Dyson Award for innovators, Lucy has inspired us all with her dedication to help solve what is a huge ambition for many of us: to use less plastic.
She’ll be sharing her story, her challenges, her successes and what she’s up to in this unprecedented time.
